Tomato Tasting

Tomato Tasting

Last week, we found a tomato on the table in the garden, which meant it was left to be shared with neighbors. Miss Misty brought it back to our school.

The next day, we decided to cut it open and taste it. First we read, I Will Never, Not Ever, Eat a Tomato by Lauren Child.

Miss Misty – What do you think is inside?

Emmett – Maybe it has seeds

Aurora – It’s squishy and seeds inside, and you eat it.

Edie – The seeds look like green beans or something.

While some children were excited to taste the tomato, a few were a little skeptical. In the end, everyone decided they liked the tomato at least a “little bit.”
