After a visit to Room 2, the children showed a growing curiosity about how plants begin from seeds. Their interest sparked conversations about nature and where our food comes from, and they soon expressed excitement about starting their own classroom garden. Luckily, Ms. Lynda had just finished planning a seed activity with her students and had extra seeds to share. She kindly gave us a variety, including carrots, eggplants, green beans, squash, and hot peppers.
The children eagerly explored the different seeds, comparing their shapes, sizes, and colors. This hands-on experience led to thoughtful questions about how plants grow and what they need to thrive. In the coming days, we’ll begin planting the seeds together—giving the children an opportunity to nurture, observe, and learn from the process of growing their own vegetables right here in the classroom.
