Room 5 is Growing Something Special

This month, Room 5 has been busy exploring all things gardening! They’ve been doing indoor planting and even building small plant houses (greenhouses) using recycled materials. These investigations will eventually lead to creating a full indoor greenhouse for their classroom.

So far, the children have planted beans, pumpkins, squash, potatoes, and even tiny Christmas trees. They are also continuing their insect observations. Recently, the children found and safely captured a wheel bug. After researching the insect together, they decided it was best to keep it inside the jar for observation rather than releasing it in the classroom. It has become a fascinating creature to study from a safe distance!
