Our young gardeners in Room 5 have been hard at work learning how to grow sunflowers from seeds, and their dedication has been truly impressive. Each day, the children take turns carefully watering their plants, making sure they get just the right amount of moisture to thrive. Through this process, they’ve been learning not only about plant life cycles, but also about patience, responsibility, and the importance of caring for living things.
As the sunflower sprouts continue to grow stronger, some of the children also took on the task of helping prepare a new flower bed in the front playground. With shovels in hand and big smiles on their faces, they helped dig, turn the soil, and get the space ready for the day when their sunflowers will be strong enough to move outside. It’s been a wonderful hands-on experience that connects classroom learning to the natural world—and we can’t wait to see those bright yellow blooms greet everyone who visits our playground this spring!
