Recently, Ms. Heaven brought in a pine tree to keep in our classroom. We were all excited to observe its features and took turns examining its needles, bark, and branches closely. Using our sketchbooks, we practiced our observational drawing skills, focusing on the details of the tree’s texture, shape, and color. As we sketched, Ms. Heaven led a discussion about the essential things plants need to grow and thrive, such as sunlight, water, air, and soil. We talked about how the pine tree is well-adapted to survive in different environments and the role it plays in nature. This hands-on experience not only helped us improve our drawing techniques but also deepened our understanding of plant life and the natural world.
