BEFORE OUR WALK…
What do you think we’ll see?
Luciana: We’ll see a stop sign, a bus sign, and a blue sign.
Samantha: And we’ll see a bus!
Luciana: And we saw a dog because people always like dogs.
Sophia: Then the walk sign. Like there’s two people on a walk.
AS WE LEAVE TO WALK…
Antonella: I see my papa. *points to construction worker who is helping to build houses next to our school*
Ian: I see two signs. *Hawkins crossroads signs*
Mattiw: 10 people can fit in it.
Kal: You get in it and you drive it. It has 3 sides.
Sophia: It has food!
CHIRPING BIRD NEXT TO SIDEWALK…
Luciana: He’s hurt so he’s not flying. Is he bleeding?
Emily: *imitates the bird’s chirp… very accurately*
Kal: That dinosaur can get help from the other dinosaurs.
Mattiw: The ‘P’ car. Has a ladder for the house.
Ian: Look at the bird flying by the car!
Mattiw: It’s an apple!
Do we want trash in our neighborhood?
THE ‘BLUE SIGN’…
Emily: It’s the blue sign.
Samantha & Luciana: ‘L’.
Samantha: And ‘I’.
Mattiw: The yellow sign. It means the cars have to pass. I see a police sign!
Samantha: This one has a number for a phone call.
Ian: Number 4!
Vinny: This how letters are like letters in the sky.
FIRE STATION AND SIGNS…
Vinny: A station for the firefighters.
Mattiw: Police Sign.
Luciana: It’s a fire trip! The brown thing is when the sounds go off. The sounds maybe turn on then they come off. Then they drive to the houses and put the water on!
Sophia: It’s by my sister’s school down that way!
ANOTHER SIGN WITH NUMBERS…
Camila: That’s money. 5 dollars.
Kal: It’s to go get toys! (thinking garage sale?)
SOME MORE SIGNS + PAVEMENT MARKINGS…
Mattiw: I see a stop sign!
Ian: It has cracks like the lines. But they put the paint on. The volcano *makes explosion sound* break them. Then they paint and fix them.
Mattiw: Doctor sign. *deliveries sign*
Ian: This one says B, A, G, O *continues with random letters*.
Luciana: It says keep the trash out of the flowers!
Ian: This one *reserved handicapped parking* is pass because there are people in their chairs.
