Making a Squirrel Feeder

Making a Squirrel Feeder

After spending time reading about squirrels and closely observing their behavior on our playground, we became curious about how to support them. As a class, we decided to request a squirrel feeder—and even took on the challenge of making one ourselves!

Once our feeder was assembled, Mr. Bobby helped us find the perfect spot to set it up. Then, we waited patiently, watching each day to see if the squirrels would discover their new snack station. At first, they seemed hesitant, but after a few warmer days and some extra seeds, they finally decided it was safe. We were so excited to see them enjoying the food we provided!

This project has been a great way for us to learn about squirrels, their habits, and how we can care for the wildlife around us. We can’t wait to see what they do next!
