Ada: I have Oge Mora books at home. Jimmy (her dog) chewed up my ‘Saturday’ book.

How does Oge make the artwork in these books?

Ada: I think she glued the people to the page.

Carlota: Then she stuck this thing on with glue. Like the tail of the kitty.

Quinn: She uses like this rainbow-ish paper.

Carlota: My skin’s kind of orange & this one kind of matches (see photo of her comparing).

Jovi: I’m making my mom. She at work.

Quinn: I made Oge Mora.

I show Aubrey the collage Quinn had been working on & asked her if she’d help me add more trees, sky & grass. She obliged & worked diligently, using small suggestions for placement.

Aubrey: I’m gonna put oranges on the trees. We need 3 (trees).

Ada: (while reading a book with Ms. Jennie, Ada hears unfamiliar words & asks…) What does ‘nodding’ mean? What does ‘reply’ mean? (Jennie explains & demonstrates)

Quinn: I’m sorting (various paper).

How?

Quinn: Color.
