The students in Room 3 have been immersing themselves in the artistic styles of three renowned artists: Jackson Pollock, Wassily Kandinsky, and Deborah Roberts. They explored Pollock’s iconic drip painting technique, which revolutionized abstract art with its spontaneous, energetic splatters and drips of paint. They also studied Kandinsky, whose use of geometric shapes like squares and circles in his abstract compositions inspired a deeper understanding of color and form. Additionally, the students learned about Deborah Roberts, a mixed media and collage artist known for combining photography, painting, and other materials to create powerful, thought-provoking pieces. Throughout the artist study, each child had the opportunity to experiment with the unique techniques of these masters, creating their own works of art inspired by their styles.
