The Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher plans, implements, and maintains a high-quality, child-centered learning environment rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy. This role demonstrates the organization’s Image of the Child through respectful, responsive interactions and supports each child’s development through intentional instruction, observation, documentation, and assessment. The Lead Teacher provides a nurturing environment that responds to the individual developmental needs of infants and toddlers while encouraging exploration, independence, and social-emotional growth. The Lead Teacher also provides guidance, supervision, and support to classroom staff, volunteers, and university students.

This role supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where young children can grow, explore, and thrive. The Associate Teacher assists with implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences, fostering positive relationships with children and families, maintaining a well-organized classroom, and supporting daily routines in accordance with licensing requirements and the philosophy of St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center.

This role leads the creation of a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where young children can grow, explore, and thrive. The Lead Teacher plans and implements developmentally appropriate, inquiry-based learning experiences, builds positive relationships with children and families, observes and documents children’s growth and development, and provides guidance and support to classroom staff. This position also ensures a well-organized classroom and compliance with licensing requirements while supporting the philosophy and mission of St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center.
