Exploring the World of Bugs

Exploring the World of Bugs

In Room 5, it’s getting a little buggy! It all began with the book The Very Busy Spider. Our friends were very interested in looking for a spider, so we collected two Spotted Orb Weaver spiders and brought them into class to observe. That led to looking for bugs for the spiders to eat, but our friends soon changed their minds. Instead of feeding the bugs to the spiders, we began observing the insects as well.

We currently have a grasshopper, a cicada, and a caterpillar that has started to transform into a cocoon. We also created a bug hotel and hung it outside to see what bugs might come to live in it. Soon, there will be another buggy creature joining our class!
