Exploring Light

Exploring Light

By Published On: March 10, 2025Categories: Classroom Blog, Thompson Room 30 Comments

This week at St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center, our ongoing exploration of shadow and light took an exciting new direction. Building on our continuous investigation, we introduced reflective surfaces into our discoveries, allowing children to observe how light interacts in new ways. Using translucent blocks and flashlights, they experimented with how light passes through, bounces off, and creates shifting patterns of shadows and reflections. Through hands-on exploration, they deepened their understanding of light’s behavior, sparking curiosity and meaningful conversations about the world around them.
