Bird Watching

Bird Watching

After spotting a hawk perched near the playground, the children in Room 1 at 42B have been interested in the neighborhood birds. They have spent a lot of time watching the birds, squirrels and chipmunks they see at the window bird feeder. They walked to the library to find books to answer their many questions about birds, and used them to identify the sparrows they see at the feeder most often. During meeting, the class came up with a list of things they would like to build for the playground that will help the local birds, like building a birdbath, and hanging more bird feeders outside.
